the reason i ask this, is because last night i was watching this program on north korea, and how people there are sent to prison camps for professing their faith, they said there are over 300,000 believers in camps TODAY becuase of who they choose to worship. Anyways, the story was this lady was in there and as she was being hit and kicked and beaten, she felt the presence of Jesus and she felt her body lift up in the air. she said she could even see her body below her being beaten but didnt feel any pain. she knew that she was going to be tortured, and the other prisoners prayed for her, and she said that she knows that the power of prayer that day saved her life.

..no I believe in you

Depends on how you define "miracle".

If by "miracle", you mean something that some god did, then, no, I don't believe in them. I've never found any reason to attribute anything to a god doing it.

If by "miracle", you mean something that is unusual or that we can't explain as yet, then, yes, I do believe in them. There are trillions of things happening to us each second. Some are bound to be unusual things. There are also some every day things that happen that we just don't have enough information about to explain. And, of course, some explanations include someone trying to pull a hoax.

This is a question that answers itself. By very nature an Athiest doesn't believe in any supernatural powers, God or otherwise. A miracle is "an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause." (Dictionary.com)

No, Atheists do not believe in miracles.

Not sure. But there are a lot of unexplained things like cancer remissions when doctors have said there's no hope or there's only a few weeks to live. However, I don't think it's anything to do with god(s). Mother Nature has her way of dealing with things.

I'll keep an open mind, though. :-)

No, don't believe in miracles. The one you describe could very well be described as a delusion caused by the woman losing consciousness.

It depends, you'd have to define miracle. If you mean a one in a million chance, that "someone up there must like you" then yes but not in a divine intervention way.

Do you believe in luck?

No I don't. There are uncanny coincidences that I've experienced but I believe ultimately all things are subject to cause and effect.

A miracle is but an unsolved mystery

Nope. I believe in coincidences, I just don't attribute Divine significance to them. I'm guessing that you believe in God, so God Bless!
