Did you buy a lottery ticket?
If not this is a scam. I get about five per day.
Just delete it and ignore it..

Unless you play the national lottery online, then they do not contact you online, except to confirm your ticket purchase, or to say you have news about your ticket.
If they do make contact, they don't send with that email address... although they do advise you to log in to the member area, to discover what the news is.
Only do this though, through a legitimate email that you have signed up for, or, preferably, go directly from their site link.
They will not ask you to give details in emails, nor discuss your account, neither will they ask you to call them, since they already have your details as a signed up member!

Simple answer ... No, the National Lottery does not chase people. For a start how would they know your email address from buying a ticket ?

there is no company that is going to send you an email that says you are the winner of thousands of dollars especially stating that your email address was randomly chosen. Are they valid....absolutely NOT...do not fall for this. Guaranteed you will be asked to pay large sums of money, provide them with the wire transfer instructions to you bank account and will deposit NOTHING.

No lottery company that asks you to phone them, or asks you to pay upfront admin fees, is ever anything other than a scam.
Real lotteries can afford that sort of thing for themselves.

Report it as scam as even if you ignore it and delete it they might use your e-mail address for fraudulent activity.I found out the hard way and ignored one similar and someone used my e-mail address to use stolen credit cards on Pay Pal. I only found out when I wanted to sign up with Pay Pal myself. It's now in the hands of the authorities for identiy theft!

Im afraid not...always be very wary of `on-line` or `foreign` lottery emails.

More than likely it's a fraud. If they have sent you a check, you can always take it to your bank and have them check it out for you. There's alot of foreign lottery fraud going on right now

If you are ever in doubt, there is a website you can check out, i subscribe to it. It is snopes.com. They are an investigative site that checks on emails and their validity! Check it out. Hope that helps.

I think I had some of these a while back - I just deleted them but sorry don't know if they are valid. Mu advise is to just delete it.

If you didnt enter a lottery then I doubt that you've won!
