You can take the religious, atheistic, reincarnation, or any other approach. I am interested in what you think happens after you die. Do you believe that you have a soul that lives on after the body dies, or do you believe everything ends when your body does? Do you believe in ghosts?

By the way, on this one, I won't be choosing the "best answer" as these are your believes whether I agree or not, so this one will be left to Voting in the end. Thanks all.

Whatever you believe, live this life to the fullest and treat people right as you walk through life.

I believe that whatever we believe happens, happens.

I think that I have a soul and after I die it returns to the spirit plane - some call this heaven, others call it source, but I call it home (where ever we come from). I think that someone who thinks they lay in a box will do just that if they believe it firmly enough. I think that hell is on earth and self created - and if we are still steeped in the negative emotions of our own private hell when we die, it can blind us to the way home and we become trapped on earth in spirit until we see it ourselves or are shown the way home. That's what a ghost is, in my opinion.

It never occurred to me that everything ends when we die, because other's continue - and living with your death is part of life's lessons for your decsendents, don't you think?

Peace!

I really don't know what to expect. The side of me that was brought up Catholic wants to say that we will go to heaven, another part wants to believe that there is some sort of spiritual recycling like reincarnation where our 'soul' moves on to another vessel, and then the pessimistic and cynical side of me wants to say that we just die, thats it, enough said. I am also torn on the whole ghost thing. Once again, there is one side of me that says the idea of ghost is just crazy and that there really isnt any substantial proof that it exists and then there is the other side of me that believes that the deceased our with us in spirit. I hate the constant battle that I have over these things because what it comes down to is my rational side (if you would like to call it that) vs. my hopeful idealistic side. So I have no idea what's in store for me after this crazy trip, but I do have hope and faith that there is something more after death.

THAT'S a morbid question !
The human race is having such a good time ,
most of them wont want to THINK about that.

But since you asked ;
1 second after I've done all there WAS to
ENJOY , I could not care less....

My nearest and dearest will remember me
twice a year ....
After 5 years they remember Once a year ...
After 50 years No-one could care less (if
they're still around) ...

My 90 percent water will evaporate...
the remainder hopefully will replenish the soil
(NO not soul) !

I am a believer !
I believe heaven is BORING
and in hell I save a lot of money on my
Heating--Bill ..... (Just bein practical) ....

I had the unfortunate / fortunate experience of dying when I was 8 years old. Regardless of what anyone on this board will write I will tell you that there most certainly IS life after death. I was a child, and I did not have any pre-influence in this area at all. I remember it all! I thank God for what happened to me, it has made such a difference in how I live my life.

As a Humanist, I do not believe in a "soul," an aspect of our intelligence or personality that exists independent of the brain and continues after death. When we die, our brain shuts down, our bodies cease to function, and we decompose. All that remains of us are the memories kept by those who knew us and the results of those deeds we did while we lived.

Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is our time. Make the most of it.

I'm a Reincarnationist and yes, I accept the reality of ghosts, who are just discarnate beings in another dimension which overlaps our own. I don't blame nonbelievers for their skepticism. Whether they believe in reincarnation or not makes no difference, as we each travel at our own pace toward enlightenment. If I had never seen or experienced ghosts, I would be skeptical, but fortunately that's not the case.

I would have to say our soul lives on since I think I'm an old soul. Maybe its only souls that have unfinished business stick around. I also believe in spirits. Ever see the shows on Court TV ?? Psychic investigators ? Check it out.

I believe that if you are a good person in life, and treat people right, that after your death your soul goes on to a better place.

You become a ghost if you have unfinished business. Once that business is finished, you go to Heaven or Hell. Otherwise, you go to Heaven or Hell or you're waiting for God to awake you out of your grave when His second coming has arrived. Everything lasts forever and I do believe in ghosts. I've actually felt them before.
