i have taken contact dermatitis from a new pair of shoes and wondered if anyone had the same problem

Could be formaldehyde in the shoes processing or dye has caused the reaction. Yes, you can definitely get contact dermatitis from it. Bring them back or you might want to wear some socks with them. Either way, don't put your skin next to the material again. Godloveya.

The shoes may have been tried on before in the store by someone who had a serious case of foot fungus. It is best when buying shoes to spray them out before wearing them. Get treated and then treat the shoes to kill anything that is living in there.

Yes .. I had a seriously annoyed reaction when I discovered I'd been given two left shoes when I went to put them on just as the taxi arrived to take me to the airport for two weeks of painful walking in the sun!

yes, you have an al;lergy to the chemicals that processed the leather, or to the dyes used to colour the leather. If they are not leather, you may have a sensitivity to the composition of the materials.
Choice one, wear them and use benadryl for the itching, and huydrocortisone cream for the skin rash
Choice two, toss the shoes....

seams strange you got dermatitis form the shoes, are you sure they are brand new? sounds dodgy to me, contact the shop you got them from

I had a very severe reaction to my wife's new shoes when I got the credit card statement!

my missus did have a reaction from a new paiar of boots..indeed...they are back leather stilleto heels and she got such a great session she had to sit on a pillow for a week...i had fun too...loads of it!!!!!

NO, it is due to the material of the shoes. try and buy one of pure leather.
