I need somewhere to take my sister who is flying in from Canada. I would like to take her out in London but I don't really know it that well. Need somewhere with good music for dancing! Any suggestions?

How about King's Cross? From there you can get a train up to Edinburgh. Seriously. It's worth considering.

Anywhere BUT london!

Smelly, overpriced, rude, dangerous and ultimately boring. If you want to stand around paying £5 for a drink in a naff club while every varity of scummy man eyeballs you - you can't go wrong.

And remember that at the end of the night you have to travel on the Mobile Zoo (the nightbus) or pray that a train is running. Or you could partake in our national sport of being sick and sleeping in the puddle.

Have to agree with some of the other comments, avoid London like the plague!

If you can possibly get to Edinburgh you won't be dissapointed, they really know how to celebrate Hogmany big style, and it's a stunningly beautiful city!

Why not book the London Eye early in the day and then head for Covent Garden for the bars, cafes and street theatre. The tube is free on NYE.
