Snoring CAN be related to weight gain, but many slender people snore as well. There may be a genetic component.
Snoring can be a symptom of a very serious disorder called sleep apnea, which can, if untreated, lead to heart damage and even death. If other people complain that you snore very loudly, especially if they comment that sometimes you stop breathing for a moment and then start breathing again with a huge snort, you really must go to a sleep clinic for a diagnosis. If you snore softly once in a while, then this is probably not apnea, but if you shake the house, snore like a bear, and drive your spouse to the guest bedroom, then apnea is a distinct probability.
Apnea is usually treated with the use of a device called a CPAP. You can't just buy one of these - they are sold only on prescription, as the pressure needs to be adjusted to your individual needs, with too high pressure being as dangerous as too low. CPAP stops snoring 100% and usually makes the patient feel generally more energetic and alert during the day as well.
Please ask your doctor to refer you to a sleep clinic right away. They usually have a long waiting list, and it's important to get the process started ASAP.
Good luck - and sweet dreams!

Yes, snoring can be related to weight gain and smoking.
Also as you get older you may develop a sleeping disorder.
Sleeping on your side can help. (that's what I make my boyfriend do). If you wake up in the night suddenly or ever feel like you are out of breath...See your Doctor about possible sleep apnea.
If you are tired during the day or fall asleep during normal waking hours are also a sign of a medical condition.
here is a site to help explain your problem better and also some solutions. http://www.helpguide.org/life/snoring.htm

He is obviously jealous and is just taking his own frustrations of his weight loss out on you. You guys obviously used to be overweight together and that provided comfort for him because at least he wasn't alone. Now, however, you have become somewhat skinnier and yet he remains the same and is probably feeling unattractive or angry that he cannot get the weight off. I used to go to the gym with a friend and he became super skinny within months while I struggled. Slowly, I started to get resentful as to why he lost the weight and not me. Best thing you could do, is remind him that you are still there for him and love him no matter what. Give him some moral support and engage in physical activities with him. For example, go on jogs together and stay at his pace.

My snoring was a problem for the spouse. My wife would often wake me to stop snoring. We found an unexpected solution that has stopped my snoring: The SquidFace and ComfyRest pillows. The snoring relief was an unexpected benefit of an invention I patented for being able to lie facedown comfortably and breathe without turning my head to the side. Snoring relief and many additional pain relief benefits are on my website. www.SquidFace.com

Snoring cures almost all revolve around clearing the blockage in the breathing passage. This is the reason snorers are advised to lose weight (to stop fat from pressing on the throat), to stop smoking (smoking weakens and clogs the throat), and to sleep on their side (to prevent the tongue from blocking the throat).
