it was common back then to behead prophets,(ex. John the Baptist) so if Christ had been beheaded it would have shown that he was 'only' a prophet, The Crucifixion at Golgotha (place of the skull) fulfilled a prophecy, and signaled a change.

"If Jesus were beheaded, would we still be having an argument concerning his alledged divinity?"
He would not have fit the profile of The Christ if He was beheaded, so I doubt there would be an argument

No, for these reasons:

1) Jesus prophesied that the Son of Man would be "lifted up," i.e. crucified. If He had been beheaded, He would have been shown to be a false prophet.

2) Beheading would have prevented the mode of Jesus' death from being considered a "curse." See Deut. 21:22-23. We are told He became acursed for us in order that we could be forgiven.

Peace.

I agree 100% with Forgiven490. purely study the recent testomony and also you may get information that Jesus replaced into divine. and there is a ton of information He existed, some archives even from the Roman Empire! confident the Gospel writers did not witness the crucifiction, besides the undeniable fact that the Bible is electrified by God, so the authors were given the tale! study! No biased source. i imagine papers from the empire that killed Him may be considered "historic information". do not you? Your chum is ideal.

Jesus was NOT beheaded.

Life is much too short to dance around in circles with IF for your partner.

Jesus is the only person who has ever lived on the face of the earth to have His biography written before He was ever born. That is awesome! He is my LORD and Savior. He wants to be yours as well. Please listen to Him. Your eternity is depending on it.

Edit: What a pleasant surprise to see Suzanne's mention of the curse in Deuteronomy 21:22-23. I was totally amazed when I read that many years ago and I am equally amazed that I've never seen anyone else mention it until Suzanne did!

Jesus removed that curse for me. Did He remove it for you?

If that would have happened then the prophecy would have lead there instead of to the cross.. You do know about the prophecy don't you? Jim

It does not really matter how Jesus was killed/ It does not change the FACT that HE is the Son of God, and one third of the trinity.

Yes. Unbelievers would refuse to believe even if He reattached his own head to his body.
