I have no insurance and I need the cheapest or the most convenient D-I-Y [do it yourself] way to get rid of them.
I see that I have to add a little more about myself, I am an African-American female and the keloids look small but when I feel them, it feels like it's about an inch inside. (Sorry if I wasn't specific).

What is your race...that is a good thing to know. Those from the Mediterranean countries and those from the black race seem to get these more often. Keloids are an aggressive form of scar formation when the body gets 'injured' (pierced, in your case). Removing them causes more scar tissue, thus bigger keloids. You may go from a pea sized to a cabbage sized. (Not likely, but you get the picture).
Remover them yourself? I hope that you do not entertain that thought becuase of the trouble that you may get yourself into...I am sorry to say, but you need a plastics guy to get you the most cosmetic appealing removal, and they will tell you that there is no guarantee.
No more piercings for you. You will only propigate more keloids.

How big is the keloids? Are you a guy? Well keloids are hereditary (especially in people of african descent) and can recur again if attempt is made to cut them off. It is an abnormal wound healing process that causes excess scar tissue formation. Most people want surgical intervention for cosmetic reasons. There is hardly a D-I-Y for this without having some kind of precription medication. There is a steriod injection (triamcinalone) which you may not get over the counter. You may consider waiting until you can afford it. It doesn't cost much. If you are able to get it, you ask a doctor friend to inject the site. Nothing major. Is it getting bigger by the day? Are you causing more injury to the site by putting on tight-fitting earings?

Keloids are nothing to play with, and you should NEVER try to correct this problem by yourself. You are going to need to see a doctor. You cannot remove a keloid yourself. Doing so, will only tramatize the scar and can lead to the scar increasing in size. Also, you cannot leave the keloid just there. You need intervention or it will continue to grow. Doctors, in order to treat keloids, will remove the keloid but also inject your ear with steroids to prevent a reoccurrence. Again, see a doctor. They may allow you to pay in installments. It is worth it. Again, do not try to fix this yourself, you will only complicate the matter and cause more injury to your ear. Dr. SCD

the best way is to have a Dr cut them off..
but since you are asking for a do it yourself method... i wouldn't recommend anything.
