Attraction --> love --> commitment (I think?) She seems only commited to be uncommited to anything. I know I can't change her, and I can't help if she doesn't want it. I am just trying to understand the thought process. Anyone have any insight? Why would anyone tear themselves up trying to resist what they want?

She may be scared of getting hurt. She might have been in a previous relationship and got hurt and she doesn't want to rush and make the same mistake again. Make sure you let her know that you're 100% committed and want things to work for you all. Just be supportive and communicate with her your feelings and show her that you're there for her despite her fear. She will definitely stop fighting once she's completely sure that you're really committed to the relationship

You can't really commit unless you want it 100%. Some reason is holding her back, do you know what the reason is?
