a long term relationship with my first love ended cuase i had cheated on her (more than once). years later we have started talking again but she doesnt trust me bc of the past. ive grown up since then ... and also realized shes the one i want. i know she needs to trust me but specifically what can i do to make this happen

There isn't anything you can really do.. the trust will come back with time. It will rebuild on its own...little by little. If you sya you love her and she is the one then just be by her side and be there for her in whatever she needs.
Also if you haven't told her I think you should tell her what you just said "ive grown up since then ... and also realized shes the one i want."

I don't think there is anything specific that you can do to rebuild the trust. If you really love her, then have patience. Trust takes a long time to build and only seconds to destroy. Eventually, she'll come around.

the first think you do is tell her how you feel
the second you have to prove to her that you have
its not going to be easy at first she definitely not going to trust you but if you believe she is the one then you got to work for it its going to take time and if you show her you wont give up she will trust you again its really not want you say that count its what you do good luck

It will take time and a lot of talking! Talk, talk, talk!!!! Show her with your actions/honesty that you love her and will never hurt her again. Imagine how she feels though! You cheated. She's never ever going to forget that you did that to her!!!
