This guy I recently met ended a long term relationship not too long ago. He now likes me and I can tell he's a sincere guy. He doesn't bring up his ex and does not seem attached still. Yet I'm wondering how long does it really take for an average guy to get over an old relationship and look for another girl without the intensions of just getting a quick rebound but intensions that he may like this new girl?

if he seems like he is not interested you have nothing to worry about but if he seems still attached then let it go.........

Every man is different, It will depend on how much he loved her and how long the relationship lasted. It will also depend on who left who because if he left her then he knew it was over but if she left him then he might not be accepting that it is really over. Good luck!

there is no time limit. my fiance had a hard time getting over his ex wife. he knew he didn't want to be with her anymore bc of what she had done, but that doesn't stop him from loving her. they have a kid together and they dating since they were teens. did i let it bother me? NO. i just showed him love and showed him that he could trust me by my actions. you are one of the keys to heal his hurting heart. just be there for him, the question is can you handle it?
