It's more poetic junk in the Bible that you can really interpret to whatever you want it to be. This bit seems to be more threats of hellfire for those outside the group. Religion likes to use the carrot and stick approach to gaining and keeping converts. This is one example of a stick. On the carrot side of it, they'll talk about "God's love" and such (ignoring, of course, such contradictions as this).

You are lookig at the Great White Throne Judgement, After Christ & his bride had rule & reign on this earth for 1000 yrs. The Millennium, This is the 2nd ressurrection, Only the wicked will be in the ground at this time, The wicked will not be ressurrected until after The millennium , Then Hell & The sea & death shall give up all the wicked souls & will be judged & hell will also be cast into the lake of fire, Now concerning the book of life, You have to see this is after the Millennium & God has to Judge them also that was born in the Millennium, God is a Just God, & everything has to be judged, some of these people will be allow to go over into the eternal age,That is why you have a book of life, & where it say and the Books(plural) were opened, That is also the book of Deeds those wicked souls did & God will Judge them accordinly as to how much degree of punishment they will have in the lake of fire, before they are destroyed.

To me it is talking about the end times. It means that we should take notice and authority of ourselves so that we become saved so that we are in The Book of Life, and don't suffer eternally in that lake of fire.

God Bless You.

It means exactly what it says and it's Not a threat. It's a prophecy of the future event and one can take it as a warning. Take it or leave it.
