When people say something for example; 'I haven't had a milkshake in donkey's years', how long is that supposed to represent?

You must have heard this from a Trinidadian person ... Donkey years does not specify a certain amount of time .. it just means "in a really long time".

The answer is, is that it doesn't represent any specific length of time. It just means ages! And 'ages' is any time that makes you feel a little impatient, frustrated, or fed up of waiting in general.

The history of 'waiting donkeys' came from a guy who was a right *** as he didn't know how long donkey-years was.

So what I read anyway. I might not be 100% true.
