I want to hear from people of all religions. I am a spiritual and faithful person, but find man made religions a bit hypocritical. Change my mind.

What makes you follow you specific religion? And I am not talking about faith and spirit, I am talking about man made religion. What is it that brought you to that religion and why do you stay with it? Guilt? Community? Etc.

I had some very personal unexplained experiences that helped me. I'm not religious though. I believe religion is politics and people. I love God and I believe in the virgin birth, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I was not raised with any sort of Christan up bringing. I also do not currently attend church. I was hurt by people there. I still love God and Jesus, they did not hurt me. I want a church that is a reflection of heaven...all races, gay and straight, bikers, rappers, prostitutes, homeless, rich and poor, skinny and fat and everything in between, no judgments everyone just doing their best to be more like Christ. Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we will fail miserably but in this church it will be OK to fail. You'll admit it and do better next time and the people will love you and encourage you just the same. If you know where this church is let me know, I've got to meet these people.

Yep man made religion. Knowing Jesus Christ is about having a personal relationship - totally different than religion. I have a thriving, real, exciting relationship with Jesus and God the Father. I have God's forgiveness for my sins and my selfishness. I am reconciled back to the Father - my sin had separated me. I am a follower of Jesus - a true Christian - I worship in a Baptist church. I don't consider myself a Baptist. See - Jesus Christ in the Truth - the Way - the Life - No one comes to the Father except through the Son. There is no other way to Heaven. Why did I choose to follow Jesus? Because I learned the Truth and I have a personal walk with Him - Praise be to God.

I am not in a specific religion - I attend a non-denominational church. I attend to hear the sermons and to worship Christ. I have also found that attending my church helps to learn a modern day translation to certain Bible passages and how I can interpret it into my everyday life. I too have found that man made religions are hypocritical, and so diverse. Each one has a different philosophy, so you never know which one is right.
I can't change your mind, only God can do that.

I agree. After 60 years of finding no truth in ego based religions I seem to have found something different.

It's a book called the course in miracles,

No ego, No hypocrisy. No contradictions.

It is said to be a direct revelation of Jesus.

I was very skeptical when I first heard this but that was 7 years ago. Now I think that it probably is what it seems to be. The actual teachings of Jesus, minus the ego induced nonsense.

Check it out and see for your self. It's worth the effort.

love and blessings Don

Man made religion is just that - man made. If you put your faith in man made religion -then you are following false idols.

The bible does say we should fellowship with other believers - so do that. Start a bible study in your home (a womans study would be great) Fellowship does NOT mean joining a church.

Why should anyone try to change your mind?
Its realised religion for what it is....

Or at least scratched at what it is.
Those of us who have spent the time thinking about it know that religions of all kinds are typically a kind of twisted herd mentality... often used as a way of controlling the people by those in power.... Sometimes even the most harmless of them can be used to manipulate people.

The only real way to attain freedom is to figure things out for yourself, and treat anyone else's beliefs directed at you as suspect.

Even those people who claim to believe their own thing.... but yet start citing names.... even as small as "God" .... are clearly influenced by other people and have little enough will to see things their own way without said interference.

The only reason I give myself the common title of "Nihilist" is because its the closest to what I personally believe.... with "Taoist" an unlikely-seeming close second.
I have little other means of expressing myself.... (which I do not out of necessity but out of desire to do so).

I am a christian. I followed it because thats basically what my parents taught me to do, but I have since decided that its what I want to do, whether or not someone makes me. I like having someone to give my "crap" over to. It gives me a little hope. I also figure that I'm better safe than sorry. Christianity may not make much sence scientifically, but it works for me, and there just might really be a hell, and I don't wanna go there if there is!

I did research and found that True Christianity, not religion, is a way of life and has a true history along with Judaism.

I am not a specific sect of Christianity and don't believe in that. I base myself on the bible and not, on what other dictate.

Who knows. Personal preference may be involved also.
