Dear Vachool,
I think that part of the reason is that people first think that they are good enough on their own, that Jesus is for sinners, not for them.
Then when people see that they ARE sinners in need of a Savior, they think they have to clean up their life in order to come to Jesus. Of course they can't do that because it is impossible.
There are only 3 ways to view Jesus: LORD, Liar, or Lunatic.
C.S. Lewis discussed this in Mere Christianity and Josh McDowell covered this in Evidence That Demands a Verdict and More Than a Carpenter.
Nice people get so caught up in their daily lives and think that SOMEDAY they will read the Bible or pray or whatever but SOMEDAY never seems to come. It is usually when tragedies come in our lives that we finally wake up to our need for a Savior.
I know it sure worked that way for me. Now as I look back I am so glad that the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe did not leave me in my religious unreality.
I think that you must have a wonderful story to tell as well!

Its hard to say why people don't want to believe in Jesus. However, one of the reason is most of the people evaluate His thoughts with religious concepts rather than his peaceful thoughts for saving the mankind. With all respect to my fellow Christian believers, let me say that our religious leaders are not considering Jesus Christ as a saviour, instead of that they are using Him as a useful tool for making money.

It's easier to not believe because you don't have to have faith, that is, to believe in something where there is no tangible proof of. Even if there is some evidence to his existence, nobody can really prove that he did all the miracles that he did. It's more convenient to act the way you want to and not live by the rules and teachings and the concept of Jesus.
That and the fact that some people who are too TEAM JESUS! scare people away.

The very same reason why you won't want to believe in Vishnu or Buddha or the Jade Emperor or the Mother Goddess.
Whatever you can claim your faith to be other faith will have a similar if not more supreme claim to it. The question is not why dont people want to believe in Jesus,
the question should be " How have I or Do I live my life that inspires people TO BELIEVE in Jesus?" that what a very wise pastor once said to his congregation when I went for a Christmas evening with my Christian friends.

When you got dirt all over your face, and your cheeks are lopsided, do you like to look in the mirror if you have no water of cloth? Believing in Jesus, looking into the claims of Christ shows them a picture of what they are, and it is ugly. Only Jesus has the water and cloth to purify them.

Even in Jesus time, those that saw his miracles chose not to follow him.
That's just how it is man. Some are going to stay on the broad road to destruction.
Mat 7:13,14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

(Isaiah 45:18): “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited. I am the Lord; and there is none else.”
From Isaiah 45:18, alone we can conclusively say that God alone was the Creator and no one else, not even Jesus, participated in the creation.
See further: Deuteronomy 4:35; Exodus 8:10; Il Samuel 7:22; 1 Kings 8:23; I Chronicles 17:20; Psalms 86:8,89:6 and 113:5; Hosea 13:4; Zechariah 14:9.
in Mark 12:29 what Jesus himself said: ‘”And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O! Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.”
John 17:21.
“That they (the disciples) all art in one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they may also be art in one...”
It is clear here that God and Jesus are one, but also that the disciples are one in Jesus and God. If Jesus is God because he is in God, why are the disciples then not God, as they all are like Jesus also in God? If God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost form one unit of Trinity, then with the disciples included they should form a God unit of fifteen.
Read Matthew 1:18.
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
Compare now with Luke 1:26& 27.
“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.”
So in the miraculous birth of Jesus, Matthew mentioned the Holy Ghost and Luke mentioned the angel Gabriel. Who is the Holy Ghost then?
The Holy Ghost is then the angel Gabriel!!
So ! Do you still believe in the Trinity now?

I do believe in Jesus, I just don't believe in the supernatural stuff attached to him. It's possible to admire him as a great teacher and reject the miracles and the "son of God" thing.

post-modernism. People won't believe something unless they themselves can truly experience it, not just be told by it. It's not a lack of information, it's a heart problem, and the only way to fix that is prayer.

It has nothing to do with not wanting to believe in Jesus. If he existed, I'd be happy to believe in him. He doesn't, so I don't.
