Rest is by far the best thing for a stiff neck. Massage, topical creams like Ben-gay or Aspercream, a heating pad, or a long hot soak in a tub with epsom salts may help also.

Sleep without a pillow for a night. I find I get a crick because my head is too high, so lowering it and sleeping with it in a 'natural' position can sometimes really help.

First of all I would rest it as much as possible. If it's really severe and painful then rub some 'Deep Heat' on it, if you can stand it. Otherwise you can have a massage - that will improve it. There's no easy quick option I'm afraid!

It usually helps me to get a new pillow, and take a hot shower letting the water hit the back of my neck.

neck immobiliser and wear it, at least overnight, or when
you feel any pain.
