ME, which stands for myalgic encephalomyelitis, means Myalgia for muscle pain and encephalomyelitis means inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.
The WHO (Word Health Organisation) recognise this condition to be neurological.
ME is often brought on after a viral illness such as Shingles, Glandular Fever etc., and so in some way although not consistantly ME and Shingles are at times connected.
