Biodiesel from oilseeds appears to be somwhat more competitive with diesel than ethanol is with gasoline. Especially for biodiesel, current fuel costs strongly depend on feedstock costs; in total fuel costs, this SHARE may be as high as 60-70 per cent. For bioethanol this SHARE is much lower, depending on the feedstock used. However, in the US, biodiesel is generally farther from competitive prices than is ethanol.

No, "share" refers to the portion of fuel costs that comes from feddstock costs.

perhaps it is the 'percentage it relies upon'. bioethanol relies upon a smaller % of feedstock cost than biodiesel does
