A good friend makes the best girlfriend or spouse. You really know each other. There is no role playing when you are friends first. You don't need to try to impress each other. You know what she's like on good and bad days, and you know what bugs you about her, and have decided that that's something you can live with. I assume you see each other often, if you are friends. My husband and I never "dated", we just kept seeing each other as friends until I finally admitted that I loved him. That was his opportunity to say he felt the same. After that, we did more romantic things when we saw each other, but we still never went on a "date". We'll be married 30 years this January. I think you should simply be honest with her and tell her how you feel, and see what she says.

It doesn't matter, how many times you date, could be the first date. You and your mate, will know as soon as the moment is right. If things are going cool, Ask the question. ....Ps Go with the flow!
