Mav would love to but she is incapable of memorization. She can remember, but because of a head injury when she was very young, she is incapable of memorizing in that way.

(Go ahead, everyone! Mav has heard all the head injury jokes!! Mav is a bit sarcastic, she would use them!)

No I have not, I prefer to understand it, than just memorize. Just as I did with the Quran, I read it to understand. I don't need forty copies, all It took is one.

You see a question like this that makes me wonder! You claim you have forty copies, and you ask soooo many question, because you say you want to learn! and now you say you already have memorized it!!! now, can you explain that!
How can a person who own several copies of the Bible, and been a Christian! and memorized the Bible! doesn't know anything about what is in the Bible! logically! how is that possible!?

One more question. Can you read Arabic?

I wouldnt because you have no idea if its been altered over time to suit peoples own wills.

I know a lot of people say thats imposible, but think about it very few people knew how to read in ancient times.

So lets assume you were greedy and wanted more power for yourself then you could simply change the word a little to suit your needs.

Why do you think the medevil feudal era lasted so long, ppl believed were ordained by God directly, obiously not true, since the peasnts were treated so harshlyl while the noble family's lived in luxary.

I am not muslim as I assume you are but it seems to me that the muslim religion was established because those people agreed with many of Christ teachings but wanted to retain some of their own beliefs. Again I could be wrong, but I have seen this happen so many times.

Another example is the Virgin of Guadalupe, a widly accepted "idol" in latin catholic churces. The virgin was actually an aztec goddess who the people integrated into their new religion creating exactly what we have been taught to oppose idolosism

People during Muhammad time memorize the Koran because at that time they did not have much copies of the Koran may be one copy only and they were in wars and if the enemy defeated them he probably destroy the copy available and the Koran would be lost, so Muhammad asked many of his companions to memorize the Koran in case the original copy lost or destroyed by the enemy. The above reason is not valid to day as Koran is every where and there are no worries that it would be lost. Of course common Muslim may need to memorize some to read it in their prayers but not all. Toady I think it is enough to read it and understand it no need really to memorize it unless some one works as Imam.

I am presently working on memorizing the Holy Bible. We will come to a time in America when persecution of Christians will be severe. Bibles will be taken away and destroyed. Therefore, I am hiding the word in my heart in preparation.

Even Satan can quote the scriptures. Knowing the words means nothing at all ,if your heart is as dark as a pit.
If you think you will find the truth in the Quran and Hadiaths(happy hunting),because all that is in those books is degradation, and perversion.

It's more important to live it than to memorize it. By the way, it's more of a challenge to memorize the Bible than the Qur'an, since the Bible is about four times longer.

I thought i could do that when I was younger, but believe me...its impossible.
You would be better off to memorize the "books" of the bible.
Try that first!
Good Luck.

Sometimes I read through the bible,
but not memorize them...
I need to understand the real meaning of it,
before I can do so.
And I think,
You're marvellous to remember it all~

I just read your profile Muslimah and am very impressed and am not attempting to be condescending in any way. But I think you should read the New Testament again, especially the last chapter of Revelation ("I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last") and review your new-found Islamic faith in the light of that.

E-mail me if you want to talk further. (I bet my Dutch is better than yours!)
