Lotus leaves contain a waxy substance which makes the water drop to remain in it's form rather spreading all over .

The cohesive force of the elements of the water is better than the adhesive force between the elements of the water and the lotus leaves. That's why the water forms in to a drop on a lotus leaves.

It forms into drops on any leaves that have a dish in them or don't bend so that the water falls off.
Water has greater cohesion qualities than adhesion gualities.
