Hi,
I'd like to know if it is possible to lay reclaimed floorboards directly onto a newly laid concrete sub-floor, or are there any issues with doing this (ie is it a stupid idea !!). What would be the best adhesive to use ?

I think if you lay Elastion first you will have no problems.

stupid idea to do it just yet. You need to make sure the concrete is fully dried out
Then you need to lay a waterproof membrane
then build a batten frame to support the oak, this should not be attached to the floor. then put the floorboards on this. You shouldn't use adhesive, the wood needs to move. Yo can use losthead nails in the tongues if you don't want to see any heads.

Hi>
See what you mean to do, but.
They will not sit properly, and go all wonky.
Proper job would be to fit wooden joists, then well and truly nail the things down onto them.
It would reduce the ceiling height, and outside/inside air bricks at the right height to avoid any underfloor rot is a good notion.
All the best with it.
Bob.
