♡I'd have to say that you may not be able to learn to speak Japanese from websites/internet very well, but you can get some basics. If you want to speak Japanese well, I suggest you take classes from a native speaker.
Try these sites:

Konnichi wa. Hello
Ogenki desu ka. How are you.
Wastashi wa nihongo o benkyo shimasu. I am studying Japanese.

Get a beginning Japanese text with tapes. My feeling is that the internet is a good addition to a study program, but a live class is far superior.
Get a Kanji dictionary and start learning to write.
I use : Kanji and Kana by Wolfgang Hadamitzky and Mark Spahn.
If you live in Los Angeles, go to little Tokyo. There are plenty
of bookstores and Japanese shops and a Japanese cultural center which will give you a good taste of the language and culture.

Gambate. Saigo made gambarimsu. Good luck. Hang in there till the end.

I would not suggest being overly dependant on the internet often you can get mixed information or presented in conflicting ways. To start off however, it would be good to study Hiragana and Katakana. These are the phonetic alphabets that help you get a general idea of the Japanese language. (pronunciation of words and how to read and write basic words)

For Hiragana and Katakana it is okay to use internet and not run the risk of getting confused.

After you learn those basic 92 Characters there are several books i can suggest to assist you further.

1. Youkoso an Invitation to Contemporary Japanese
( try to get the work book as well as it has wonderful activities to go along with it. This book goes a little slow but has plenty of examples to help you understand new concepts)

2. Japanese for Everyone
(This book goes really really fast but is short and to the point, it assumes you already know hiragana and katakana so if you learn them and are ready to learn the language seriously this is a good book)

For now however, here are a few useful phrases to use:

("ha" by itself is pronounced "wa")

Namae ha _________ desu. (my name is ____ )

Hajimemashite. (nice to meet you )

Ohisashiburi desu ne.
(Long time no see)

Ohayou Gozaimasu
(Good morning)

Konban ha
(Good evening)

Oyasuminasai
(Good night)

Ganbatte ne Good luck
