Play all the memory games you can, like Husker Du.

Learn mnemonic devices.

Keep your mind active with puzzle games and crosswords.

No TV.

Don't smoke pot or drink too much.

Study what you want to remember just before bed.

Get enough rest.

Go running, and while you are running think of the thing that you want to remember.

Rehearse things in your mind a few times so it can go from working memory to long-term memory.

you have to tie down the gas balloons (the data you want to remember) on a permanent basis, lest they float away. In order to tie down to your memory, associate the data with something similar thing you are already familiar with.

it is better to break down the data into small bits and the string can be recollected anytime you want. this goes for telephone numbers, long string of numbers etc. try them once, you will be amazed at your overnight memory gain!!

play many memory games. or just try to recall what was the last thing you said and what you said before that and go on. and when you go to sleep recall all the things that happened to you today by starting with the last thing you did and go on backwards. this will improve your memory.
