I actually asked our kindergarten aged son this yesterday..cause I remember my older two (now in high school) would come home practicing their Christmas concert songs...OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! UGGHHH!! But he said...Nope..we have a thanksgiving song..BUT no Christmas one! My older children went to a different elementary school BUT in the same city! And they had school programs like every month!! The school my son NOW attends is trying so hard to be politically correct that they didn't even allow the children to dress up for their Halloween party...
Had their hands out for punch and homemade goodies...but NO costumes...Mind you...my son looked forward to this party..cause he was going to get to wear his costume in front of his friends...and the notice came home...NO costumes...but where's the punch and cookies..(got 4 of these in one week!) Also...the school SUGGESTED NOT to send invitations to birthday parties..cause some kids won't be invited and they would feel left out...Isn't that a part of life..some kids get invited and some kids don't...The school system is trying TOO hard to make EVERYONE happy...but the kids!!!! My son came home after his "halloween party" and was like..."that was lame! it was like snack time" ~ No punch and cookies from this mom!!! I sent candy bags...but was a thank you sent home..NOPE!

Wow. the highschool I went to made a brilliant deal of Christmas. We had a substantial Christmas play that lasted like 3 hours, alongside with a stay overall performance from the band, and the lecturers embellished the hallways. My nephew's college does Christmas stuff too and that's a grade college. The others should not be celebrated the two if Christmas won't be able to. that's ridiculous. If I have been a instructor or something, i could attempt to make something celebrated of each and every trip. alongside with ***, chinese language, Jewish, and so on just to grant the youngsters a feeling of custom. i've got the two participated or went to a college play/stay overall performance for Christmas each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days from kindergarten (1995) to my senior 3 hundred and sixty 5 days (2008). one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, they forgot to devise something so they planned a Christmas play interior 2 hours and it grew to become into the funniest situation ever. i could be complaining and attempting to get another mothers and dads to whinge too. attempt to artwork out something with your district and get up for the youngsters artwork. that's what the performs are. artwork.

Yes, my son's high school has a band Christmas concert as does my daughter's middle school.
I assume our local elementary still does also.

When my daughter was in 4th grade, they did a Holiday concert. The concert included secular holiday songs including Xmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa.

Yes, they do. It's usually a pretty big deal. Typcially only the upper grades participate, but last year my son's 1st grade class got the special honor of being included.

NO! thank goodness LOL
it's a good school etc.. but I find that so many parents get so absorbed and competitive in those things and it's not something I want, know what I mean?
Now I'm sure in high school there's going to be, but I have a few years for that. lol

They have the more generic "holiday" concerts, and they are pretty festive.
