zoonoidia, transmission of diseases from animals is a real worry. diseases like mad cow, bird flu and several others could cause major problems at any time.

Cats can get the flu, they can die from it. I guess dogs are the same, i dont know about horses

Its unlikely, because we have had pets around for almost as long as we have been on earth. Unless we do do something stupid and un-natural.
