If you mean the "Christian Churches, Disciples of Christ" group, they are an unorthodox denomination (that denies being a "denomination" and ademently calls themselves non-denomenational [sic]). Their primary heresy is that they teach that one must be baptized in water (only by immersion) in order to be saved.

This group is part of the "Restoration Movement" started by Alexander Campbell and Barton W. Stone in the 19th century. These men were both kicked out of the Baptist and Presbyterian denomenations for their false teaching on baptismal regeneration and denying the Trinity. The modern day descendants of this movement are the "Christian Churches, independent [sic]", the "Christian Churches, Disciples of Christ" (which you asked about), and the "Churches of Christ". Beware of them all!

The Disciples of Christ is a denomination of the Christian(Protestant) church.
See the link below for more in depth info.
Im assuming since you asked "what" and not "who" that you are not referring to the Twelve Apostles (Matthew, John...etc).

Do you mean the denomination? If so, they are a sect of Christianity on the outer rim, not mainstream. Not a good denomination for a healthy Christian.
