If a joke asked by me about Santa-Banta few days b4 hurt someone, I am really sorry for that. It was not asked to hurt someone or any community. I always salute to Sikhs. India would be no longer if this Brave People were not with INDIA. I once again apologize.

this is a delicate area... I didn't see your previous joke... but jokes do mask some form of prejudice/anger that the person telling the joke has... obviously by your apology you didnt mean to offend... and it can be a barb to the heart when we think we've hurt someone via a joke... so good on you...

I know my own flippant remarks hurt people when I don't mean to... and thats the problem, our subconscious comes into play when we tell a joke... although we may mean it in a light-hearted way... people do take offense...that's just the way it is... people are easily offended if they think the joke is personal... and that it may be masked as a dig at them...

my boyfriend is always hiding behind his so called jokes that I take offense to... and then he calls me a sour c*nt if I take offense to what I think is a personal dig at me...

with jokes I find that it is better to be very very general... and usually if the person is offended, then they also have issues with what has been said... which they need to sort out...

Jokes are there only to make one laugh, not to denigrade a race or community..There are some C/2 s here, who denigrade Hindu community. Let them follow your principle.

It is not a shame, if you ask for pardon, if you think you have hurted some one.

A thumbs up to you.

Jokes are just that: jokes! The whole world is picked on: there are jokes about Jews in gas chambers, the Italian mafia, about the KKK against the Africans, there's jokes against the Arabs and jokes against women who drive, jokes about doctors, cops, presidents, kids, plumbers and soooo on. Whoever gets offended needs to understand that there's something called sarcasm and something else called sense of humor ;)

That was very decent of u. I think there is a solution to this problem , just replace Santa-banta or Sardarji with any name or just 'There was a guy........ ' so we dont target any specific religion , caste or country.

DONT WORRY. You are an honest person and wants all (who are unknown to you too) to be happy and safe. God always gives you good health and wealth. Some one who dont understands you will be the foolish. Jokes to be taken as jokes only.

Yeah, but it was a JOKE, right ? Jokes are NOT supposed to be taken seriously or to heart.
