You are right. There would be a lot of pit falls for you in dating someone younger than yourself. What I mean is since you are legally an adult if you are in US and she is a minor and if a relationship progressed very far, you could face criminal charges if caught.
Tell her you are willing to be friends but that is all right now. Tell her to think of you as a big brother and then watch out for her and be a protector for her.

well it all depends if you can trust yourself to not go overboard then go for it, love does not have an age. when i was 17 i went out with a 14 year old, yeah there were 3 years beetween us and there is 5 between you two, but if you can trust urself to behave than why not?

cos in my point of view... age doesn't matter.. it's the maturity... dude u r 19... u should be mature enough to judge her and yerself too.. just dun get yourself into trouble...

Well, if you really care about her, you can let her know but I would advise you not to rush into anything. But still, she is too young for you. You can wait for her if you want to or you can get a girl that is closer to your age.
