I would say it means that the things he said were so upsetting to me that I literally went to pieces because of it or even more figuratively, I was so upset by what he said that I fell apart at the seams. Now I should go and ask somebody what that means :-))

It means, "The things he said had a very strong impact on me. So strong, that I could not think of what I should say or do after he said them." Clearer now? :-)

I believe it means the person is being figured out and basically is being stripped naked from the facade he/she puts on by this man who's telling it as it is.
