I also think that way...

Well have u ever wondered why there is not a single alphabet for the "sh" as in shine, or "ph" in Philadalphia,

why there is need of the silent alphabets in different words ... like t in listen...?

Why there are 2 words for single meaning, or why there are so many meanings for one word?

why the spelling for Psychology is not sykology???
Or for Physics, it is "fiziks"
etc...
Likewise there are thousands of things that are ununderstand able....

So isn't it a stupid language???

By the way it is the language that GAYS speak.
As in all England....

It's not so much a stupid language but it is a mongrel language. Much like how the two main English speaking nations of the world, the UK and USA, are riddled with different cultures and peoples, so too is the English language full of foreign loan words and colloquialisms that it is in no way an easy second language to master.

Oh yeah and don't get me started on the spellings. :)

Most languages in the world the verb trails the noun. Because it's logical to know what it is your working on before you do the work. Like Latin and Greek and all Asian languages and most European languages the verb trails the noun. English for some reason got it wrong. I think it was the Jute/Anglo/Saxon influence in Roman times that created backward talk. When Rome was trying to civilize England from barbarianism. Much like the way Black culture has influenced the way we speak American English in the South.

Never heard that before. How can a language be stupid? Perhaps you are sick and tired of a group of English-speaking people who use English words to put you down. Get even, not mad.

I agree with wild cobra that who has the problem with English, means who doesn't speak well. They considered it a stupid language.

Because people who don't know how to speak it are stupid. I should rephrase that. People who live in a country that is English dominate who don't speak English are stupid.

False premise. Stupidity is a quality reserved for living creatures. A language cannot be stupid.

Maybe those who have a difficult time learning it want to blame the language. (and not their small minds)

Because it's full of bits and pieces from all over the world...plus its got so many exceptions to the basic linguistic rules that it's supposedly really hard to learn... it's a cool anguage still though!
