My gut reaction was of course we should, but then to be honest, I'm tired of having to ***** foot around the religious sensibilities of others, I really believe that if someone cannot tolerate the tradition of free speech in this country then they really should not have come here. I am especially annoyed by those people that flee to Britain because they are persecuted in their own country then they try to force their own intolerant attitudes on us.

Not so sure about your slightly paranoid dispostion 'fifth column' etc and how do we know what anybody will do in the future - but yes in principle religious zealots regardless of faith and of all nationalities should be under a strict immigration control policy. However throughout history how many christian missionaries we sent into the wider world forcing their religious nonsense down peoples throats? Everybody should be free to worship etc whatever they want without fear of intimidation or reprisal. What about city councils trying to rebrand Xmas because it causes some groups offense? Its a nonsense. Incidentally there is no god.

No country gives faiths equal standing.
They are either secular which means Christian because equality is a Christian concept, or they aint, It is binary, either or, no third option.
UK law is not Shi'ire law compatible, equalities and religious hate laws mean quoting bits of some Koran translations gets you banged up. "Love thy neighbour," believed by some muslims as an exhortation to casual sex, may stir up the bigots, but "behead those who insult Mohammed "is definately over the line, Not that I would dare insult Mr Al Fayed the esteemed owner of Harrods.

Im with a few other people on this. All religions believe that they are right; but they can't all be right can they. And if im right in what i heard a while back Jedi is actually now an officially recognised religion becuase 10,000 people believe in it. Just think 2000 years down the line they could be having wars over it. Makes you think, dosen't it?

Yes, I agree. That method is not discriminatory or offensive. The ones who truly believe that their religion is superior would not be able to bring themselves to agree that all religions are equal. That would weed out the Majority of people who will cause us trouble.

No, because we my be denying access to the very people seeking refuge from the country in question. Would you deny a safe harbor to, say, Iranian or Saudi Christians?

Good point. If you let thousands of these bigots into your country, you're only storing up a race riot for the future.

I believe yes. There is an old Roman saying for visitors which is "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. If not, you are not welcome."
