i'll try to put it as nice as i can

When i need a Number 2 (poo), i get sharp pains just below my belly button/just above my pubic bone as if theres something trying to eat its way out the front,
it doesnt happen everytime, just about 2-3 times a week
As far as i have noticed my stools havent changed, seem normal,
but also it can be quite tender just above my pubic bone when i dont need to go, but when i do go sometimes its worse.

i hope i making sense, and before any of you say it 'yes i have already booked an appointment with my doctor next week but hoping someone might be able to give me any info on this before i go because next week was the eariest appointment they had and to be honest its worrying me abit.
serious answers tho please
thanks

IBS is certainly possible, but I'm going with colitis. Also you might want to check out Graves Disease. Go to www.merckmanual.com

Stop worrying you will make it worse! It cant be a blockage as you go ok, You might have IBS or a possible mild hernia or are actually a little constipated. If you are on medication that could also cause those symptoms. Anything more serious would have more serious symptons.
A week isn't long to wait so stay as relaxed as you can.
Good Luck!

Could be that you are not eating enough roughage and you are a bit clogged up. Eat some Al-Bran and baked beans and some wholemeal bread.
This should get you on the move and maybe clear you out before you get to the doctors. The doctor will then be in a position to check you out without having unwanted bulk inside you. Best of luck

Have you ever had a hernia? That could be the problem. When you are pushing out your stool, it could be agrivating the hernia. I'd just wait and see from the doctor, everyone here may just get you more worried. Good luck

it could be a hernia i had one just under my belly button hurt when going to toilet because it is a small amount of bowel poking through muscle did not hurt all the time just when it had popped through go to docs and describe symptoms is only way to get true diagnosis good luck. oh mine is sorted now had op two years ago have not had any bother since. If you are female it could be signs of ovarian cyst.

Seeing a doc is the best thing. You might have an inguinal hernia, but only a doc can tell. Good luck.

If your poop is normal I wouldn't worry too much about it. It may be just a spasm which can be really painful. A trip to your GP is in order though, and don't be embarrassed either!

Ring your Dr`s again and ask for a slot this week tell them that you need to see a Dr, just to put your mind at ease

It could be an obstruction in the bowel or something. From what you have said already this seems the most obvious.
