Ok..follow these: first cut a 1.5mm thick steel or aluminum plate to a 50mm equilateral triangle but the three edges should have an extra rectangular cut of 8mm width x 15mm length. looking at the picture, you will get a triangle with three long rectangular ears. then buy in a radio shop three identical telescopic antennas aprox. 200mm long with aprox. dia. of 6mm. (pls dnt. 4get the ant. screws) drill holes in each tip of the rectangular ears. holes should fit the screws of the antenna you got. twist the ears perpendicular to the plane of the triangle plate then bend 45 deg. downward and drill a hole in the center of the triangle plate, hole should fit lose with a wing screw suitable for your camera base, screw your three antennas. you can spray paint what color you like, now you have a home made tripod!!

Lean against lamp posts, fences, walls, etc. Place your camera on a beanbag on a surface and arrange shot. Place your camera on your camera bag and use self timer. Use a mopnopod, shop at goodwill, check local for sale adds, look on your local Cheapcycle or Freecycle site.

I think you can get a tripod at Wal-Mart for $20.

There not expensive. Your probably looking at the expensive brands online such as Bogen Manfrotto or Miller. Good luck making your own, its probably more trouble than its worth and the slightest miscalculation will make it unlevel.

Only high priced tripods will give you spare parts. It would be cheaper to buy one, or try yard sales (car boot sales in UK)
