Dvds for home dvd players have to have a specific file structure. You should just use a propper program for this task.

For example try to use AVS Video Converter http://www.best-video-converter.com/avs-video-converter.html

The program is very simple.
- insall and run it
- open a file, click "To DVD"
- click "Convert Now"
- at the end of this process, the program will ask you to insert a blank dvd
- burn it

that's all
