Both, choose the man and then wait for him to choose me...
I know I know...LOL
In modern age society, a woman should choose her man carefully...but waiting til he chooses you, you might be waiting for a while. I think you should choose and then go around some means to get him to notice you...and to choose you.

Well i saw this gorguz guy when i was in college walk past me and i fell in love at the first sight of him. I next saw him 4 months later and found out he was in the same class as my mate. I asked him out and 5 years and 7months later we are still together. It was me that asked him out and i'm so glad i did as he would never have as he is really shy.
So i say, if there's anyone you like go for it, don't take chances or else you'll miss out.

The man I am with right now had to chase me to catch me. He loved it. I think men are basically the hunter/protector types and they feel powerful when they "conquer". Of course, waiting for that makes you miss some good opportunities. My dad used to say about my mom "yes, I chased her until she caught me"
