It's been said, and I agree, that you should eat several very small bites of food a day.

For example my diet is as follows:

Breakfast = 1 boiled egg & fruit smoothie
Mid-morning snack = Handful of mixed nuts (unsalted)
Lunch = cup of Chicken soup
Mid afternoon snack = Handful of seeds & nuts
Light supper/dinner = Chicken breast with salad & juice

One answer said that your body goes into starvation mode - this is true. You need to keep your metabolism flowing - and you only do that by putting bits of energy through your system regularly. Otherwise what happens is when you DO finally eat, your body will not use the energy, it will store as much of it as possible for future use. It will think there are not enough food resources around and it will stock the energy (turning into fat).

Besides, eating one meal a day will not be sufficient over any length of time. Your nutrition will decrease and you will probably become ill after a while because your immune system will suffer.

All the best!

No you need to eat 3 meals a day, because if you don't you aren't having a balance diet

How are you managing to survive on one meal a day surely you will find that something you feel light headed and tired, this is because you body has used up all the fuel from that meal, also if you are doing it to lose weight this is not the correct way, and in the long run you will put on more weight

Your body needs 3 meals in order to function probably

no! Your body goes into starvation mode because you are not giving it all the required nutrients at regular intervals throughout the day. This may cause you to gain weight or at least stay the same, no matter how much you diet and exercise. You really need to have either 3 balanced meals or several small meals with some healthy snacks spread out during the day.

No.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
A good meal in the morning keeps you energetic throughout the day.
The rest of the meal, take in small portions.
Always remember, eat before you are full.
If you only take one full meal a day, you would start craving for food at the end of the week!!
