If the TV is to be switched off, can the power plug switch be directly off...?or is it necessary that you switch off that atleast with the remote and then cut off the plug switch...?

if you unplug it, on most (if not all) tv's you lose all of the programming, and when you plug it back in and turn it on you have to reprogram in all of the channels again. no need to unplug it, just turn it off with the remote.

just turning the power off with remote or by pressing power on the tv should work, dont see a need to also turn off main power and plug

it will not mess up your TV if you just unplug your TV, with it on or off
