My best friend is going in to have an mri and a eeg today can you tell me what they are and what they do?

MRI magnetic resonance image

is nothing but xray picture taken in the magnetic field and it gives clearer picture than the normal xray and ultrasound images of internal body parts .the person is introduced into a high magnetic field ..it will not harm us only the thumping sound would be heard throughout the session and a n mri scan lasts about 15-45 mins

eeg it is a test done to study the brain waves and stimulation just like ecg which is electro cardiogram which studies the heart beat likewise eeg studies the brain wave..

MRI takes pictures of the a body part, in this case the brain, in thin slices so you can see the progression from one slice to another of how things look inside. It doesn't hurt at all but it's loud and you have to stay very still. It can also be clausterphobic.

An EEG is a test that measures brain waves. Lots of little probes are put on your scalp using a conductive paste. They get an idea if there are any problems like seizures or things like that from an EEG.
