I only dated 2 people prior to college, with one that ended up lasting 4 years. I'm in my third year, and I've dated about 20, with 2 more relationships. (I'm still a virgin by choice though.) I guess my point is, isn't 20 a lot? Is this normal? (I'm 20 years old btw.)

My parents were pretty conservative and married the first person they dated. Is it normal to date so many people?

I mean 20+ different people...not just dates, . Say each lasts a couple weeks, sometimes at the same time.

Ok, well I've had 4 relationships. One lasted over a month; the other 3 months; the other 4 YEARS; the last one I'm in now,...been over a month so far.

In terms of dating (the other people), I'd say 2 to 3 dates with each of them. The dating excludes the relationships.

In the old days, people are more loyal, trustworthy, honest and that is why it is easy to find the right one and the good ones to get married and spend the rest of their lives together.

Nowadays, everyone is busy, no time to date. Spoiled by so many choices. People are more open, not conservative, independent and that is why people nowadays will date more than our parents during their time.

Is it not a matter of how many you date but whether you take every date seriously or just fooling around. It is hard to find someone whom have the attributes I mentioned above but there is so don't give up hope first.

But my advice would be, concentrate on your studies and future first before jumping into too many relationships which are going nowhere at this time. Why rush into one when you can make yourself financial independent first and have a stable career before thinking about dating.

ok so how long did your dating last in the past 3 years? i mean, are you saying if you went on 3 dates with one person, a different person each week, that you dated 4 people that month?

"Normal" is subjective. I personally don't see anything wrong or abnormal in the number of people you date.

The question is, does it bother you?

If not, then keep dating the way you're dating. There's nothing wrong with having 20 dates.

If so, then you may consider reducing the number of people you date. This would only be because it is best to do what you are comfortable with.

Well the only thing you have to worry about is that you might be too picky, but hey you have to go thru a lot of frogs to find that prince! So it doesnt hurt to be choosy, atleast you wont settle for the first thing. If I were you I would make a list of things you want in a guy, so you dont accidently skip over him.

Sounds like any young person to me. The fact that you aren't having sex suggests that you are smart or waiting for the 'right one'. Don't worry about it and just have fun! be happy cause even tho long term rels are great, they are also pretty restrictive at times. Get to know who you like and ne day you will get a bit more serious. Studies are important! X

yes its normal, your not hurting anybody anyway.its not your fault if you havent found the perfect one for you,and i think you're just being honest with yourself.it's too risky if you'll enter a relationship with the guy you dated twice or thrice isn't it,i know that you're trying to choose the best among your dates, and thats pretty normal.nothing to worry, and i'm hands up,because you're still a virgin at the age of 20.goodluck,and may you find the best among them....

3 Date rule here - 3 dates no sex, it's on to the next. Virgins - 1 date on to the next.....

I think people should date a lot of people, because then they find out what they really want, and wont feel they missed out on anything, when they settle down later in life.

I don't see anything wrong with you dating around. You are not sleeping with them. How else are you going to find that special someone. If you were sleeping with them then it would be a different story.
