Police cameras are good, because sometimes things aren't on the record that should be. Without cameras, how would we know who to believe? Because trust me, there are some crooked cops out there.
(I am NOT cop-bashing. Just stating the truth.)

yes, they are. For Anthony, it sounds like you've got a major chip on your shoulder, wow!!! Not all Police are bad, some are just hardened due to all the CRAP out there on the streets. The video cameras in their cars help with DUI charges, accidents, people fleeing the scene, etc. And it does have the advantage of catching those "bad" cops that use police brutality.

Yes. I agree that police cameras are good because they help police man to see how what and when an incedent occured. So keep up with all what the police are doing in our lives.

if they are used in a general purpose like surveillance of an area, then yes i can see how beneficial they are. they can catch crimes in the act.
on the other hand, no they aren't good. police use cameras to build profiles of innocent citizens. they find out who you are, what you do and so on and then match it up with video evidence of you to create a profile of you regardless of what you're doing. all they need to do is stop you once. it's a "routine check."once they check your ID, they've got you because most of your information is already in the system. it goes on file with the attached video. if they ever need it again, 20 years down the line, they'll use it against you.
police will NEVER catch themselves in a crime and if they do, well, they never did. in other words, they have the evidence and therefore tapes are quickly destroyed.
don't ever get it twisted about police programs. these people are legalized gang members that walk the street exerting their authority over everyone. they do what they want, when they want, and how they want. just like any gang member, they will lie to get themselves out of trouble. in NYC they say that "only" 10% of the police force is bad people. yet police hardly get arrested and rarely ever face trial for their crimes. if the other 90% of police officers KNOW that the other 10% is bad, THEN WHY DON'T THEY DO THEIR JOBS?!?!?!?! it's because ALL.. 100% of police are bad and the 10% that's considered bad is enabled by the other 90% which includes everyone from the top down - mayor down to the desk clerk. they all cover each other behinds. think about it
i know a lot of people may feel safe for whatever naive reason but that is until it happens to them and they end up with a record they don't even know about until it's too late. you're already in court and they've decided to create an image to a jury who doesn't know you. Select video evidence of your past activities paint a picture that truly isn't you. its all up to a judge to decide what's ok and what's not ok. then you might as well be rolling loaded dice.

Look at it this way.......you like to attempt to catch me on your cell phone and cameras doing my job. Then, when there a fight or issues, you take the footage and sell it to the news stations. Now it's my turn. I film you, and when there a situation, I introduce the tape into court and watch you flail. It's amazing how the real dirt bags always seem to show up in court with a haircut and suit. That's where my tape comes in...:-)

I don't think that it is bad...but I'm not for a military big brother world, besides if we get to use to just trusting what we see on camera we are in trouble, video tape is very very easy to manipulate..

Yes, if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear.
Besides, you can find police brutatlity in it as well so it serves as a check on the cops themselves

It would be if they only used them for real crime enforcement, but what we have are cops, corporate owned police.
