One must ask, why did god create people who he KNEW would be evil? Whether or not is was of their own free will, which is another issue entirely, if god makes people that he KNOWS will become evil, then he cannot be totally benevolent.
If he IS totally benevolent, then he cannot be omniscient, because there are definitely people who have the quality of evil.
The descriptions of god from the bible do not add up...

Going to war is not necessarily evil, especially if you are defending your life, family and country from oppression of another country.
War becomes evil when a person or country initiates war against another person or country just because that person or country does not like the other person or country.
Attacking another country is generally a colonization.
All men and countries should fight evil. How? By stopping the person or country initiating the war.

Evil is materialism. materialism casues suffering. one should fight it therefore.
cannot say that every war is evil. war means killing the enemy, whether its a living being or a desire. Materialism is about desires for enjoying the material world through the senses, including the mind. We cannot force people to behave in a non materialistic way (through war/attack) because the opposite of materialism is spiriuality and spirituality is based on freedom and love. The real war shoudl be a personal one, against the evil in our hearts, the whims of the mind that casue troubel to ourselves and other beings. That is the true meaning of jihad (holy war - it doenst have to be a war aginst so called infidel.
Who shoudl fight eveil? anyone who knows good, wants good, is good, even somewhat... however we should not kill unless we are sure that its God's will to do so. In the end Gods own system of justice prevails so we don't really need to fight these physical battles. better we take care of our own battles within.

War is only evil when someone isn't given a distinct and clear reason as to why they are fighting in the first place.
It is evil to fight someone just because... Especially, when they do not expect a fight......
Men were supposed to war when God said the time had come.....
In this day and age, men war, so as to gain another man's goods....
There is no good way to war...... the wages of war are as sin and death.... all will come to an end.......

Well, fighting differs according to the purpose. If someone tries to kill you and you want to defend yourself, that fight is allowed. If you kill someone on purpose and with no possible reason, you go to hell and get the worst torture. If you fight for your country, it's allowed. If you fight for protecting your family on the condition that the one you're fighting for is truely worth it and not just because he/she is you relative, then it is allowed. How to fight evil, varies. You can fight evil by doing good things and making more people believe in God and follow His path. You can fight evil by stopping wars and fights as much as possible. I'm a Muslim just to let you know.

not necessarily. I think Nazis were evil; who fought them? I think the Japanese government of the 1930s and early 1940s was evil; who fought them.
Who kept the USSR from taking over all over Europe? I think that Communist regime was evil.
I believe Sadam to be truly evil, I believe his sons were made as evil as him and one even more crazy.
I don't think there's a formula for who or what is evil, but when you see someone all powerful (supposedly), killing madly and out of control, you should consider whether that is evil incarnate or not.

War itself is definitely evil, and is a result of human failings. People become the sock puppets of their leadership and governments who wage war because of greed, prejudice, power, or some other self-serving reason. The high-sounding principles used to justify war are usually just smokescreens for the laziness, stupidity, and/or inability of governments to use diplomatic or other non-violent means to solve problems before they boil over into conflict. Sometimes it is the goal of the powerful to exercize power over the powerless. Humanity needs to grow beyond the need to resort to violence.
