Religious leaders will breathe a sigh of relief at the news that so-called intercessory prayer is medically ineffective. In a large and much touted scientific study, one group of patients was told that strangers would pray for them, a second group was told strangers might or might not pray for them, and a third group was not prayed for at all. The $2.4 million study found that the strangers' prayers did not help patients' recovery.
This is a remarkable example of "positive spin" -- religious leaders are "breathing a sigh of relief" because prayer has been shown to be meaningless. The fact that prayer is a total waste of time does not matter to them. It does not matter that all of Jesus' promises about prayer in the Bible have been proven completely false.

They actually did a recent experiment with a bunch of people who were about to have surgeries performed on them. Some of the people received prayers and the rest didn't receive any. The people who were prayed for actually had less successful surgeries on average than the people who didn't receive the prayers at all. Either God was up there manipulating the experiment results or prayer doesn't really work too well.
I don't understand the logic of prayer. If someone prays for a sick person and the person gets better, it's called a "miracle." If they pray for a sick person and the person dies, they assume that God was listening but just couldn't fulfill the request for some reason. I guess it can help the people who THINK that it works, by giving them hope or something like that, but still, it doesn't work any better than wishing on a four-leaf clover. Unsuccessful prayer is probably one of the biggest reasons why some people are skeptical of Christianity.

you won't be able to coach prayer to artwork or not. you won't be able to do a double blind learn. you are able to in no way divide people into communities that won prayer and those that did not. the main significant reason is that there is not any thank you to comprehend that somebody did not acquire prayer. some one would desire to be praying for or against the tip results of your path. that's the form of "undesirable technological know-how" that gets me. i will locate as many examine with the different results of those above. we are able to volley those funds dropping trials all day and it will nonetheless be rotten technological know-how!

God is inside of all of us. So, when we pray we are talking to ourselves. We can make things happen if we really want it bad enough. Testing god?? No, but we are pretty good at testing ourselves.

There are numerous studies done by secular research organizations, that prove that prayer does have an effect on healing. Perhaps you didn't know that before asking this question.

God doesnt do everything you may ask of him. For instance....I want a million dollars this instance.....nothing. We are here on this earth. We are left to deal with what may come. He can comfort, he can even heal. But he has no obligation to do anything.

Because prayer doesn't work. If there is a god, it should be painfully obvious by now that he/she/it doesn't give a damn about anyone on this planet. Just look at Dafur, or Rwanda, or Afganistan under the Taliban, and tell me again about how god fixed your car that one time so you wouldn't be late for work.
