I have been seeing this guy for about a year. Lately we have been fighting. We have had some hard times together. I loved him very much. I thought he was my everything.. Lately he has become very emotionally and mentally abusive and a few timely became physical. He always acted like it was my fault and that I was crazy.. I recently found out that he has been doing drugs.. The other night he came here, he acted like everything was fine, then he just got angry and then he got physical with me to the point where I had to protect myself and put him on his back..... I had no chose to call the police when he treatened my life and my daughters life.... Could the drugs have made him do this??? because before we had a really good relationship...

If you recently found out he was on drugs and you are sure that he wasn't on drugs before than yes, it is probably the drugs that have given him his personality change. If he has started acting abusively to you and has become physical than the only thing for you to do is to stop seeing him. He needs to get help at a rehab. If you were in a position where you had to call the authorities than I doubt that you will be able to fix the damage that he has caused you and your family. I know it hurts but hang in there, I honestly believe that there are some really good guys out there its just a matter of meeting the right one. Take some time to reassure your family that this wont be happening again, and then take some time for yourself to reflect on the blessings that you have. I am sure that you did the right thing and you will get past this its just a matter of time. SLP

Drugs would definitely alter his mental state, anything from steroids to cocaine. You have a long term relationship on the line but you and your daughter come first. Talk to him, is he prepared to straighten out no matter what that takes? If he says yes and doesn't come though get out of the situation, you have someone counting on you.

YOU NEED TO LEAVE HIM. Once he threatened you physically you should have left. You have a daughter and the most important thing should be her safety. If he is abusive physically even once, even if he is on drugs you should not be with him.
