Because he is omnipresent, worshippers do not need a statue of him. Statues of gods represent paganism to the monotheistic religions. It is also interesting to note that the big three (Judism, Christianity, and Islam) have a misogynistic element to them as well. It is in the Ten Commandments.

There is no reason for that .Of what help will He be to the statues? It is better He be present in you so that He can help you, in a plant or other animals that needs life.I think omnipresent means in every situation.

There is a difference in statue and murtis, which are worshipped in Hindu temples.
A statue is not worshipped at all, just like those of politicians,in the public parks,on which birds **** on!In hinduism, there are strict rules to worship the forms of God,which are made by expert sculptors, who know exactly what material he has to use ,the dimensions, and the priests know how to conduct the rites, since time immemorial.Temples of India are the richest of the world, and when muslim hordes came to India, they destroyed thousands of temple, but this does not mean they were more powerful,as sometimes God let demons carry on their jobs-as in the case of Jesus also. The karma for destroying temples is to be reborn in deserts formany lifetimes! The murtis make many miracles for their worshippers,as they bless them according to their love.God has the same shape like man-but He's perfect,non-material,and most powerful.

God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation
Thanks

Its simple, why cant GOD lie, drink Alcohol, gamble, rape etc etc.
If anyone says "Since GOD can do everything, why cant he do these?"
Thats nonsense, When GOD commands us all to be good and do good, then it is logical that HE himself should be good and not do satanic things.
So saying that GOD can get into a statue, is illogical.
Some say, GOD can take the form of a human being to understand the problems of mankind. Logical??
No, why should GOD become a donkey to understand the problems of a donkey?
I dont have to become a PC to debug a PC,!!
I just have to read the instruction manual and thats all.
Read the instruction manual for the entire mankind.
The QUran.

Because 'statues' are created by humans. These cant do or help themselves, what they have to do for others. Where as GOD is creator of this whole universe. HE is theonly ONE who is managing every thing. If you kick a statue, that will fall down and wont say any thing. There is no difference between a statue and a piece of wood, stone, wood etc.

I think you intend to mean God's indwelling. God cannot live in things build by human hands. God in the Person of the Holy Spirit lives in Christians who are His temples (1 Cor 6:19). God does not live in church buildings as well. It is when Christians gathered in the church building that God is there in His people and corporately.
