Self-Help for Depression
How to Help Yourself
If You Are Depressed

Are you plagued by negative thoughts about yourself and your future? If negative thinking is trapping you in a world where everything seems dreary and hopeless, you need to listen to this show.
Depressive disorders make one feel exhausted, worthless, helpless, and hopeless. Such negative thoughts and feelings make some people feel like giving up. It is important to realize that these negative views are part of the depression and typically do not accurately reflect the situation. Negative thinking fades as treatment begins to take effect. In the meantime:

Set realistic goals and assume a reasonable amount of responsibility.
Break large tasks into small ones, set some priorities, and do what you can as you can.
Try to be with other people and to confide in someone; it is usually better than being alone and secretive.
Participate in activities that may make you feel better.
Mild exercise, going to a movie, a ballgame, or participating in religious, social, or other activities may help.
Expect your mood to improve gradually, not immediately. Feeling better takes time.
It is advisable to postpone important decisions until the depression has lifted. Before deciding to make a significant transition--change jobs, get married or divorced--discuss it with others who know you well and have a more objective view of your situation.
People rarely "snap out of" a depression. But they can feel a little better day by day.
Remember, positive thinking will replace the negative thinking that is part of the depression and will disappear as your depression responds to treatment.
Let your family and friends help you.

If it really is depression, I recommend - - visit to doctor for some medicin - sleep and rest - if continues, therapeutical aid needed If you are restless and sleepless (or you sleep whenever), some kind of activity can help. Not too much, just a short walk, discussion with a friend, a movie... I preferred video movies when depressed - I could step out of my head for awhile.

It sounds like your boyfriend is keeping needful friends away from you. This is to keep you co-dependent on him only. No wonder your depressed. Missing your father is not only normal but also a sign that a "good" male figure in your life right now is very needed.

You need to go out and serioulsly get your butt kicked i mean beat down, maybe even have your life threatened or taken from you.
If this could happen and you lived, you would love life and be very appreciative of what you have for you would realize you are blessed and have tons to be happy about.

You have to consult a good Clinical Psychiatrist. He will help you.

If you don't have enough money for that you can try generic Fluoxetine 20mg in the morning for 6 months.

Please, please, please go talk to a counselor. If you are still in school, go to the one that is there. If not, check your local women's center. They often offer counseling or can point you into the right direction.

I struggle with mild depression on and off myself, and just talking to someone neutral and nonjudgmental can make you feel a lot better. A counselor can also help you come up with a strategy to help you with your grief and to make new friends (volunteering is a great way to meet new people).

Best wishes!

I CAN help.....

If sober, get in your key,s, and pick a direction and drive. Grap 3 CDs near you spontaneously, and get in the car and go for it.

You have no reason, you need to have no reason, just laugh OR cry at the music and let it all go.

we have ALL been there, and you are NOT ALONE.

I don't know how old you are, but you can get anti-depressant drugs like Prozac.

If it's really bad see a psychiatrist.
