First, give yourself a break. You're haven't got a problem. Lots of people get shy, even the people you might think are confident. Don't be afraid to be yourself. This doesn't mean to have an attitude that you don't care what people think, but don't be afraid to disagree with people sometimes. If you've got trouble making small talk, you could even try practising with family or friends. Finally, don't be scared to make a fool of yourself. You rarely say something really stupid in conversation. Just laugh at yourself, people can't resist being attracted to some with a good sense of humour. Just enjoy yourself!

Lots of people have this problem. I am one of them. I try to just MAKE myself do it because I know it's the polite thing to do. If I just really don't feel like talking I just walk up to them and shake their hand. Usually they will then say hello/goodbye and even though I didn't say anything out loud I feel I said a proper goodbye.

Nothing to be done accept forcing yourself to do it. Say Hello and enquire about their health too or just talk about something. Add appreciation of how nice the party was, how nice the person is looking or how nice it was to be there and meeting everybody with your goodbyes. Chatting more will help you distract your mind from your anxiety. After a few times, it will be easier.

This is normal. Most ppl have this problem. Say hi to those who are having eye contact with you. Ignore those who are not looking at you. When you leave, just say goodbye to those who are noticing that you are leaving. But it's important to say goodbye to your host.

Tips: Always feel that you belong.
You've been invited so there's no reason to act awkward, there's nothing to worry about, you don't need to do extra motion but just plain simple greeting will do.
Be confident, it's all about mind-set.

take someone with you that is semi confident. Let them engage you in social encounters. It will help you become used to the extra attention you may receive.
