My girlfriend just broke up with me Saturday night. I am struggling to grip with the reality that she is gone. She wanted to break up with me simply because her parent's thought I wasn't good enough and she took back her promise to me. I even asked her if I was good to her and she said I was. We were friends before I asked her to be my girlfriend and I just asked her November 1st. My birthday is coming up and so are the holidays so I have to spend them alone since I have no family. Anyone that can help me please say something nice and realistic.

I appreciate the answers so far, most of them are sweet. I am not the type to believe I have to have someone to make me whole, in fact when I met her I wasn't needing a relationship but it sounded nice. So, to end it nicely, I decided to be her friend first and see if we would ever have a chance. We did but her parent's were very critical of me since I was not employed at that time. I am now but it doesn't matter I guess except to me. Again, thanks for the answers folks. especially from you ladies on here, you'll are sweet.

Humm, well I went and read yer profile and saw your 360's page I have to say that it seems as if you have it all going for you and if someone that is studying law is not good enough for someone then who the hell is! All kinda sounds fishy to me on her part and if I was you I would just figure its her loss and she was not the one you were meant to be with. Move on for you will find someone very special and can make there own choices who they want to be with good luck. Remember those who wait will find out the wait was well worth it!

I'm gonna be nice to you by telling you something real. Fact is that she was not woman enough to stand up for her choice to have you as her bf. Even though she thought you were being nice to her, she decided to let you go because someone told her to. I think it was her loss.
Spending holidays alone is difficult. Why don't you find a friend (and his/her family) you can spend time with during this "happy" season?

You are in a mess. Look at it this way the girl if she listened to her family against you, did not love you and she quit being your GF. Go look for a girl who will love you and not go for what her parents say. As far as this girl is concerned you spent some good times with her thank her and forgive her and move on. I also am alone but i am looked after the Lord looks after every body so do not despair resolve to have a good time

Volunteer this holiday season. You will get a chance to meet people, make a difference and take your mind off the break up. There are many organizations and charities that need help during the holidays.

Well, i'm sorry to hear that. If you really loves this girl then work hard and upgrades yourself. Who knows one day her parents will like you. You said your family is not here but do you have friends around. If yes, then invite them to spend your birthday. Anyway, I wish you a Happy Birthday in advance..... :)

move on! bese on my experience when me and my ex-bf broke-up i thought that it would be the end of my life but as my friends helped me by giving me sort of advice and listening all over again to my heart-ache helps my heavy heart goes ligther than before. keep busy and wait for the right one, pray for it! don't seek because when the right day comes you'll be happy and muc more contented. happy living. uhm, by the way keep out from your memories together. explore new things! :D good luck!

if she can break up with you that easily then you dont need her anyways. there are lots of women out there looking for a decent man. get out and do something, you will meet someone there are too many people in this world for anyone to be alone.
