The fact is that as far as LITERAL TRUTH, they are all demonstrably untrue. Human history predates the Abrahamic religions by thousands of years yet no one had ever hear of him before the Jews showed up, and most people for long long after. Was he on vacation or something?

Now, what caused... Everything? Who knows. If it was some sort of intelligent being it's something so far beyond pathetic human concepts of a deity that it's a meaningless comparison to make. Plus, "he" obviously doesn't much care about me groveling since "he" has never sent me an e-mail requesting or requiring my worship.

What would he do with it anyway. All powerful but still needs the bows and scrapes of ill-mannered children to prop him up? Unlikely.

The world is a scary place and it is changing faster now then it ever has. The property and privilege of a ruling elite is valued above the lives and dignity of the general population. People want answers but don't want to look for them.

In a word: LAZY.

I think there is no better way to live (in 2006) than to believe in God, whether you practice a religion or not.

Ahhhh .... Spiritual realms..... There is another higher plane of existance where spiritual battles are constantly being waged. Once born into the spirit-realm, (once of water, once of spirit) one begins to become aware of the sights and sounds and movements within that world. Alas anyone not "born" of spirit will not understand the things of the spirit. But RELIGION???? Non-denominational church is best! Too many cling to the letter and not the spirit or pledge allegance to Paul or Apollo's insted of the Great I Am and his Holy-Spirit and His Son, God Incarnate, sent to show us the way which he made for us.

It depends on what you mean. What do I think of people who just think that some sort of higher power exists? They're fine with me. What do I think of people who still think that the world is 6,000 years old, some guy put all the animals in the world on an ark, and in our lifetimes, a guy will come down from the heavens and sweep all the believers away into a magical paradise and leave all the other sorry non-believing fools behind? That's another story.

i think it's good as long as they don't do anything wrong. I know many people who say they're one religion but act like they had no religion at all.

You have to be a fool to not believe in religions. Simply put, they exist - all 43000 of them. Whether or not they're true is a whole other story.
