an Australian cricket commentator called one of our,South African, cricket player a "terrorist", becoz he was a muslim with a beard. He said "the terrorist got another one", something like that when Hashim Amla(the player) caught the ball. The commentator also said that the statement was not meant to be heard on live TV

What do you think of his comment?Do you think that his apologies were sincere if he said it was not meant to be heard on TV?

It doesn't matter whether it was meant to be heard or not, he said it.

I'm Australian and I'm embarrassed by people like that (and we have plenty of them)

Wow...crazy to see this happens on the other side of the world!

His comment is nauseating, but with the way the world is right now, it's not surprising. Sad, but not surprising.

No, his apology wasn't an apology. He was trying to save his job. He still thinks it, and if he gets canned, he will probably blame the "terrorists" for it.

If that imam or mullah or whatever he was can say the things he said about the way Australian women dress and deserving to be raped and not have to apologize, why can't a non-Muslim be granted the same courtesy?

Everyone's entitled to his or her own opinion. As a sports commentator though, he should have been aware that the audio feed was on "live" mode when he made such remarks.

But for what it's worth, you'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt since he did apologize publicly, right?

But if you feel like calling him a bigot, then that's your call, too...

Peace be with you.

In this day and age...I don't care anymore if we hurt a Muslim's feelings. Too many of them portray hate and don't represent themselves as a "peaceful" religion. That's the unfortunate truth.
The commentator should not say those things however because it has nothing to do with the sport unless he knows that the player is actually invovled in terrorist activities.

It is sad that he chose those choice of words. Maybe his apology was sincere, I don't know. But it does not look good for him if he added that it wasn't for television audience consumption. May God Bless

I think his comments were un called for. When he apologized he was probably trying the CYA method (covering his a**)

It is apparent to myself that the announcer is a bigot. He is apologizing because he got caught not because he is truly sorry.
